Up & Coming Artists to Listen to in Each Major Dance Genre

Wrriten by Ade Ramos (@vibewithade)

Whether you’re a house head or a trance lover, we’ve gathered some up and coming artists to put on your radar for each major dance genre. Get ready to add their beats to your playlists and hopefully catch a set of theirs soon.

Bass: ISOxo

When it comes to rising bass and trap artists, ISOxo is on an iconic pathway to the top of this genre. From going back to back with Skrillex on NYE and receiving mixing/mastering credit on Skrillex’s new album, that should give you plenty of indication that ISOxo has something special going on. You can also catch him on the festival run this year at festivals like Ultra Music Festival, Electric Forest, Hard Summer, and more. To get familiar with ISOxo, listen to his remix of Knock2’s track “murdah”.

Drum & Bass: Flava D

I discovered Flava D from her remix of LP Giobbi and Bklava’s track “Sinner” which led me to dive into her whole discography. This UK artist has had quite the journey with her styles ranging from grime, bassline house, UK garage, and R&B to her more recent releases being in drum and bass. If you really want to vibe to some drum and bass, check out this recent mix she did for International Women’s Day.

Hard Dance: SAJCHE

For my hard dance lovers, check out this brother duo from Los Angeles called SAJCHE. Still on the rise, you can browse their remixes, releases, and mixes on their SoundCloud that feature their heavy kicks and catchy melodies. They have also opened for artists like Lady Faith and and Dr. Phunk. I’m definitely excited to see how this duo grows over time.

House Music: Salute

When it comes to house music, Salute’s music makes me feel sparkly, vibey, joyful, and groovy all in one. I am itching to experience a live set of his because it's hard not to dance or smile when his on the decks. This Austrian born artist will have you bouncing all night long, and knows how to throw a proper set. You can get a little taste with his Boiler Room Melbourne set as well as the mixes he has on SoundCloud.

Techno: BEC

A fast rising techno star in the making, BEC has had releases on Pan Pot’s, Carl Cox’s, and Adam Beyer’s labels. She has also played at Burning Man, in Ibiza, and at Awakenings. I love her heavy techno kicks that feel like you’re lifting off into space. I’m currently digging her latest release “Humanoid” that was on Drumcode’s most recent compilation ‘Elevate’.

Trance: Taylor Torrence

If you’re a fan of Seven Lions and Ophelia Records, Taylor Torrence is the trance version of that essence there. It gives me that similar euphoric feeling with lyrics to latch onto and trance and progressive beats to vibe to. He’s played at EDCLV and Dreamstate and definitely is on the path to become a bigger name in trance. Checkout his Dreamstate set to sample his music.
