5 Budget Friendly Festivals to Attend

5 Budget Friendly Festivals to Attend

Written by Ade Ramos (@vibewithade)

When you start attending festivals, you’ll quickly find that it is an expensive hobby to have. If you want to keep scratching that festival itch while keeping your costs low, we’ve gathered a list of a few events that are more budget friendly in terms of ticket prices. All of these festivals are two to three day events and if you live near any of them, you’ll save even more on accommodations and travel.

Day Trip Festival

Day Trip Festival is a house head’s dream located on a scenic waterfront in Long Beach, California. This festival is created by Insomniac Events which means you can expect an immersive festival experience, next-level production, and an awesome community of house music fans. This festival has GA tickets around $150.00 with payment plans available. You can expect for Day Trip to return in June 2023, so consider it for your summertime itinerary.

DUSK Music Festival

DUSK Music Festival is a growing two day festival in Tuscon, Arizona featuring music, food, and art. DUSK began in 2016 and is held in the heart of downtown Tuscon. Their 2022 lineup featured headliners such as GRiZ, Alison Wonderland, Young the Giant, and other artists ranging from bass music to house music. A two day pass starts at under $100 and we anticipate it to return in November 2023.

EDC Orlando

If you want the EDC experience, but EDC Las Vegas is outside of your budget, consider its sister festival on the east coast. With GA tickets starting at under $200.00 and payment plans available, EDC Orlando gives you a big taste of Insomniac’s epic stage production and incredible lineup that it brings to Las Vegas while being a bit more chill and less of a marathon. The festival typically takes place in November around Veterans Day with 2023 dates being November 10-12.

Project GLOW

A newer addition to the Insomniac festivals, Project GLOW hosted its inaugural event in 2022 giving the east coast a much needed springtime event. Located in Washington DC, the festival has two stages and one art car with artists ranging from all sub genres of dance music. GA passes start at under $150.00 and if you hop on the tier 1 pricing, you’ll get the best deal. Payment plans are also available (we hope you’re sensing the theme that payment plans help A LOT). Project GLOW 2023 will take place on April 29 & 30 with a great lineup including Dom Dolla B2B Green Velvet, Gryffin, Jai Wolf, Kygo, & Zeds Dead!

Ubbi Dubbi & Freaky Deaky

As bonuses, Ubbi Dubbi and Freaky Deaky are both located in different parts of Texas and managed by Disco Donnie Presents. Ubbi Dubbi takes place in Fort Worth, Texas in April kicking off festival season while Freaky Deaky takes place in Baytown, Texas (near Houston) on Halloween weekend. Both of these festivals have stacked lineups and are affordable, especially if you do a payment plan and hop on the first tier. Even at some of the higher GA tiers it can be close to $200.00 for a GA ticket for a 2-day festival weekend which is reasonable. Ubbi Dubbi will take place on April 22 & 23 and has already released its lineup featuring Adventure Club, Deorro, Kaskade, Rezz, Timmy Trumpet, & more.
